This week many new titles caught my eye but the one that drew me in the most would have to be Terry Fallis’ new novel No Relation. This will be Fallis’ fourth novel. From Goodreads:

This is the story of a young copywriter in New York City. He’s worked at the same agency for fifteen years, and with a recent promotion under his belt, life is good. Then, one morning this copywriter finds himself unceremoniously fired from his job, and after he catches his live-in girlfriend moving out of their apartment a couple hours later, he’s also single. Believe it or not, these aren’t the biggest problems in this copywriter’s life. There’s something bigger, something that has been haunting him his whole life, something that he’ll never be able to shake. Meet Ernest Hemmingway.

First of all, the main character’s name is Ernest Hemmingway. If that’s not the beginning of a promising book, I don’t know what is. Then add the fact that Earnest is a copywriter by profession and I’m sold. This book is going to be awesome. I’ll admit that I’ve never read anything from Terry Fallis before but I did listen to the first chapter of this book and I am already hooked. Not being much of an audiobook/podcast kinda gal I’ll probably wait to read the book in print but if you are interested, Terry will be uploading one chapter each week on his website until it’s finished. Amazing, right?

Have you read any of Fallis’ previous novels? Will you be picking up No Relation?

No Relation will be published by McClelland & Stewart in May, 2014.
